OBJECTIVES

Since retiring from active business in late 1992, I have been handling freelance writing projects for clients worldwide. Over time, I have pared down my client list to a few select people who provide me with a continual flow of diverse assignments. Currently, I am interested in further reducing this client roster by establishing a new relationship with a company or publication that can assure me of enough assignments to meet my financial goals.

Since retiring from the agency business in 1992, I have been specializing in freelance copywriting activities with particular emphasis on SEO website content. To date, I have written more than 20 websites; hundreds of original articles; blog copy & posting and editing of books, ebooks and manuscripts. I also perform ongoing Internet marketing services and PR aimed at elevating my clients search engine rankings and targeted traffic flow.

March, 1990-September, 1992

Account Supervisor & Copywriter, The Michelson Company, Los Angeles, CA. Responsible for account supervision on Toshiba America Electronic Components; Teledyne Relays; 3D Systems and other agency high-technology accounts. I also performed heavy copywriting assignments for ads, PR & publicity, collateral materials and marketing communications plans. Retired: September 1992 when company ceased operations.

December, 1984-February, 1990

Directed marketing and marketing communications activities for Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola Semiconductor; Fairchild Data Products; Honeywell, Inc; Edge Computer; Hewlett-Packard and others. Heavy strategic planning, program development, copywriting and publicity activities.

August, 1982-December, 1984

Account Supervisor, Foote, Cone & Belding, Inc., San Francisco, CA.

Led account management team on National Semiconductor/National Advanced Systems $8-million annual advertising account. Also had heavy copywriting responsibilities. This represented my return to the agency that formerly employed me at their Phoenix, Arizona subsidiary, Jennings & Thompson/FCB.

Account Director/Copywriter, Reiser, Williams, deYong, Santa Clara, CA.

Led account team on National Semiconductor/National Advanced Systems account until client elected to terminate the agency but requested that I remain and take the account to another larger firm. FCB (above) was selected.

December, 1981-January, 1982

Full-service account management and copywriting for clients including AMI, West Bend and others. Transferred here from B&J’s Phoenix office after it was purchased from FCB.

Managed all agency high-technology accounts including Capex Corporation, ITT-Courier, Evans-Rotork, Inc, and others. Heavy copywriting for ads, publicity and collateral materials.

Developed and serviced $2.9 million in annual new client accounts in the high technology sector. Extensive copywriting for ads, brochures and publicity materials.

Held agency positions as an account executive and copywriter for advertising and PR in New York City. I was also an editor for the McGraw-Hill magazine Electronics in the 1960’s.
